There is no better time than the present to spread holiday spirit and kindness to others!
What are you and your family doing to give back? Adopting a family in need? Donating to a shelter? Bringing goodie bags to the homeless? Or…did you start your own traditions? People all have different ways of giving back. The only thing that matters is that we do just that.
I'm on a mission to do something kind every single day for someone else who needs it. I want my son to see how important it is to give back especially to those who need it most.
Yesterday's small act of kindness made my heart burst with love and my eyes fill with tears. A mother had posted on a local Facebook page that her son, Michael, had lost his money holder with around $60 inside. She was asking if anyone had seen it or to keep their eyes open for it. I immediately wanted to do something to help.
“I knew the power of a single wish, after all. Invisible and inevitable, like a butterfly that beats its wings in one corner of the globe and with that single action changes the weather halfway across the world.” —Alice Hoffman
I was raised by a single mom who worked multiple jobs just so we had the necessities. I know when I was a 5th grader like Michael I would have been absolutely heartbroken if I had lost all my money.
I messaged Sandra, Michael's mom, and asked what he had been saving up for. She said they were going to Game Stop so he could buy a new X-Box Remote before he lost his money. So I said I wanted to buy him the remote! She was so thankful and shocked. We planned the meeting at Game Stop but Michael had no idea he was going to get the remote!
Sandra waited to tell him until we were all in front of the store. When Sandra told Michael, he took a minute to respond because he was fighting back tears. His mom was crying and I was trying to hold it together. He was so sweet, thankful and deserving. When we were saying goodbye, we all had tears of joy.
Giving back is important and so is being kind - having real empathy and sympathy for others. This is not a selfless act for me because it filled my heart with so much gratitude and happiness. We should all find our own ways to give back and to show kindness to others.

Please give back, spread cheer, love, kindness and do something for someone else. Small acts of kindness do make a difference - especially if we all do them! Can you imagine the amount of kindness that would be spread if we all just did small acts of kindness?
Will you join me in bringing joy, love and kindness to others?
It ALWAYS makes a difference!
